+ We have been administering covid vaccines since they were first available. This year, we will administer Moderna vaccines, since only their vaccine is approved for patients younger than five years old.
+ We endorse and follow the guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics and New York State Department of Health that vaccines should be available for all children ages six months to twenty three months, older individuals with increased risk of illness following covid infection, and all others who want them.
The 2025-26 RSV season has ended. RSV antibody shots will be available for eligible patients again beginning in October.
+ RSV season is typically from October through March. The 2025-26 season was extended through April.
+ RSV antibody is approved as a single dose injection for all infants who are younger than 8 months old at the time of the injection.
+ Infants whose mothers received RSV vaccine before the last two weeks of the pregnancy are protected by maternal antibodies and are not eligible for this injection.
+ Data show the shot reduces RSV pneumonia by 70% and hospitalizations from RSV infection by approximately 90%!
