Frequently Asked Questions

What insurance plans does Delmar Pediatrics accept?

Delmar Pediatrics participates with a variety of major insurance companies, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CDPHP, Empire, GHI, MVP, PHCS, The Empire Plan, TRICARE, UnitedHealthcare, Univera, and others. Because individual plans and benefits can vary, we recommend contacting your insurance provider or our Billing Department to confirm coverage before your child’s appointment.

What if Delmar Pediatrics does not participate with my insurance plan?

If your insurance company is not one of the plans with which Delmar Pediatrics participates, you may be responsible for payment at the time of service. Our staff can submit the necessary insurance paperwork so you can seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Follow-up on outstanding out-of-network claims remains the policyholder’s responsibility.

Are copays due at the time of my child’s appointment?

Yes. Insurance copayments are required at the time of your visit. Copays are determined by your insurance plan and are considered part of the payment for the medical services provided.

What if my insurance company reimburses me directly?

Some insurance plans reimburse patients or policyholders directly rather than paying the medical practice. In these situations, you will be responsible for paying the charges for your child’s care at the time services are provided.

Who should I contact if I have a question about my insurance coverage?

If you have questions about insurance participation, billing, or coverage, please contact the Delmar Pediatrics Billing Department. Our staff can help answer questions about our billing policies and insurance participation. For questions about your specific benefits, deductibles, or covered services, you may also need to contact your insurance company directly.
